Andrea Czapary Martin, CEO, PRS for Music, has been included on the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Executive List.
The recognition comes after a period of accelerated growth for the organisation, which made its largest ever payment to members in October 2022. It also acknowledges Andrea’s leadership vision in the fields of data and technology, as PRS for Music works on pioneering new developments in music identification.
Speaking on the announcement, Andrea Czapary Martin says: ‘In October last year we made our largest ever distribution to members in our 108-year history, followed just three months later by our second largest. 2022 demonstrated our accelerated growth and the delivery of my vision for PRS for Music and the members we serve. Data and technology leadership is central to this vision, as it is to the future of the music industry, and PRS for Music will lead by example on a world stage.'
‘With our new metadata portal, launching this year, we’re putting the power of data back in the hands of creators, providing greater speed, accuracy and transparency throughout the royalty chain and ensuring songwriters get the credit they are due. And it’s just the beginning, we are actively working on revolutionising the identification of music across the value chain.'
‘We are delivering on my commitment to become a society which pays out over a billion to rightsholders in the most efficient way possible, keeping costs below 10% (cost to income.)’
