Jackie Alway (Universal Music Publishing), William Booth (Sony/ATV and EMI Music Publishing) and Edwin Cox (West One Music Group) have been elected to the PRS board.

The appointments were announced by PRS chairman Guy Fletcher at the PRS Annual General Meeting, which took place yesterday (13 June) at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.

Nigel Elderton (Peer Music UK) and Richard King (Faber Music) were also re-elected as publisher directors while directors Barry Blue, Nicky Graham, Steve Levine, Mitch Murray and Julian Nott were also re-appointed as representatives of the songwriting community.

During a speech to members and guests, Guy Fletcher thanked outgoing publisher director Paulette Long (Westbury Music) for her work over the last year.

In his speech, Guy Fletcher thanked the wider PRS for Music team and highlighted the achievements of British songwriters both at home and abroad over the past year.

He said: ‘Their hard work throughout 2012 has been rewarded by real achievements like reducing costs and increasing royalty revenues.

‘With the economy the way it is at home and abroad, the financial results of 2012 are admirable. As members we have the comfort of having a team which is dedicated to celebrating music, protecting copyright, delivering royalties and licensing your music wherever and however it is used.’
