Kate Tempest, acclaimed playwright and performance poet, has signed a new record deal with Big Dada.
The artist, who is described by her new label as ‘more of Skinnyman than Seamus Heaney, more of Deal Real’s legendary Friday night rap battles than a book signing and reading at Foyles’, will release her Everybody Down album on 19 May.
According to Big Dada, the record is twelve ‘chapters’ telling one story and is produced by Dan Carey (Bat For Lashes, M.I.A and Hot Chip).
Kate has already enjoyed an eventful career having released debut album Balance back in 2011. She's featured on songs with Sinead O Connor, Bastille and the King Blues and toured extensively, supporting Billy Bragg on his UK tour. She’s also performed with the likes of Scroobius Pip, Femi Kuti, Saul Williams and John Cooper Clarke.
