Pink Floyd Music Publishers have signed a new deal with Imagem Music UK to administer the rights to David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright’s songs.

The band have self-published for many years through their own company under the management of Peter Barnes.

A new agreement with Imagem Music UK covers classic records such as Dark Side of the Moon through to The Division Bell as well as solo albums from the musicians.

Paul Loasby, Tony Smith and Garth Tweedale, managers for their respective clients in Pink Floyd, said: ‘This is a big change for us. Together with Peter Barnes we did a detailed review that made us really think about what we needed from a publisher partner.

‘That’s not easy when the band had effectively done their own publishing via Peter Barnes for PFMP since the days of Atom Heart Mother. We wanted all the flexibility we have now combined with creativity, enthusiasm and the ability to punch its weight for us in the digital world.  We met and liked the team and we all feel that we are going to get the sort of personal service we need. We are very much looking forward to it.’

The deal came into effect from 1 July this year.

Pink Floyd are one of the most iconic rock bands of all time having sold more than 250m records in their career.
