[PIAS] Cooperative has announced a new agreement with Sunday Best Recordings to help develop their repertoire.
Rob da Bank created Sunday Best in February 1995, originally as a weekly club night and launched label division Sunday Best Recordings two years later. The label was known for releasing music by the then unknown acts including Groove Armada, Lemon Jelly and Bent. The label’s eclectic roster includes the likes of Dan le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip, David Lynch, Valerie June, Kitty Daisy and Lewis among others.
Sunday Best Recordings has also announced a host of recent new artist signings including Xylaroo, Alice Jemima, L.A.Salami, Solar Bears and Laucan. These artists will be releasing new music as part of this agreement in 2016.
Rob da Bank said: ‘Sunday Best has been working with [PIAS] in one way or another since 2003 so this new agreement was a no-brainer. Jason Rackham and his team have been instrumental in the ongoing success of the label and we look to continuing our great relationship with them for many more years to come.’
This new deal with [PIAS] is a global agreement excluding the US and Japan. The label is now overseen by Rob da Bank, Ben Turner and Sarah Bolshi.
Sunday Best is the sister company to the award-winning Sunday Best festival division, which now counts among it’s events Bestival, Camp Bestival, Common People, LEAF and Bestival Toronto.
