Indie music company [PIAS] has announced the acquisition of harmonia mundi, a specialist classical, jazz and world music.
This acquisition, which takes place from 1 October, comprises the assets of harmonia mundi including catalogue, infrastructure and expertise. It does not include the company’s book publishing interests or retail operations.
harmonia mundi comprises record labels, music publishing and distribution divisions and was founded in 1958 by the charismatic and visionary Bernard Coutaz (1922-2010). It now features over 100 staff and offices in key territories.
