Peermusic’s extensive catalogue ranges from classics including You Are My Sunshine and You Raise Me Up to Katy Perry’s Firework and Rihanna’s Umbrella.

The company also holds the rights to the catalogues of iconic songwriters including Buddy Holly, Donovan and Hoagy Carmichael.

Lyric licensing agency Sunny Side Up, headed by music industry and marketing veteran Michael Gottlieb, will begin work placing lyrics from peermusic’s most iconic songs onto a range of consumer products.

The agency has previously worked with clients including Sony/ATV, Imagem Music, Universal Music and Warner Chappell to successfully exploit their lyrics.

Nigel Elderton, European president of peermusic, said: ‘This is a very exciting development for all parties and we look forward to seeing our songwriters’ lyrics on a wide variety of consumer products.’

Gottlied added: ‘We are very pleased to add the peermusic catalogue to the roster of rights that Sunny Side Up represents. The peermusic catalogue contains some timeless lyrics that will translate beautifully onto a wide range of products.’
