Paulette Long and Goldie among New Year's Honours

Paulette Long, PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund Trustee and d'n'b pioneer Goldie were among the 2016 New Year's Honours.

Paulette Long, PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund trustee and drum and bass pioneer Goldie were among the music industry figures named in the 2016 New Year's Honours.

They were joined by fellow music industry figures David Joseph, chair and chief executive officer, Universal Music UK and Ireland.

Acclaimed singer songwriter Damon Albarn also received an OBE for services to music.

Paulette, alongside David, received the award for services to the music industry - she is a board trustee for the PRS For Music Members Benevolent Fund, vice-chair of the PRS For Music Foundation’s board of directors and a director of the Alliance For Diversity In Music and Media.

Commenting on his award, Goldie, real name Clifford Price, said: ‘Very very proud to announce that I have been awarded an MBE - Member of the Order of the British Empire. There are some amazing people on the list, happy to be in such great company. Thanks for all the kind words. It’s been a long journey and the beginning of a new one.

‘Thank you to my unsung heroes/heroines Kemi Storm, Grooverider, Fabio, Doc Scott, Reinforced, Frost, Headz family and most of all my family.’
