West Country collective Hacker Farm, London post punk act Blood Music and African dance troupe Shangaan Electro are all performing as part of the Out of Place series of ‘stereo field trips’.

Organised by Qu Junktions and Arnolfini, the events will pit experimental composers and artists against various locations both in and around Bristol including an abandoned farm, a shopping centre and a swimming pool.

The first outing, which takes place on 28 September, is the Hacker Farm Field Trip featuring audio visual artists Hacker Farm, Ashley Paul and IX Tab. The trip will involves taking a mythical mystery bus tour to a secret location for performance, installations, film screenings and an ‘electronic campfire communion’.

Dance collective Shangaan Electro will host a series of masterclasses on 22 and 23 October before performing a live gig at The Exchange, Old Market, Bristol.

A month late on 22 November live/club night BUNKER will take place with the likes of Container and Cut Hands performing in the cells of an ex-police station.

Out of Place is a co-production between Arnolfini and Qu Junktions.

PRS for Music Foundation’s New Music Plus project has helped fund the series. This initiative has also been developed in association with funding from Arts Council England.
