Oscar nominated composer Gary Yershon is to host a bi-monthly event with Academy Award winning screen composers discussing their works.

Taking place at the Barbican in London from 20 April, the Oscar winning scores series will see a variety of composers in attendance over the course of the year.

The first event in April will welcome composer Gabriel Yard to talk about his score for The English Patient, as well as music for other Hollywood hits City of Angels, The Talented Mr Ripley and Cold Mountain.

Other composers to talk through their works include Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare In Love), Steven Price (Gravity), Rachel Portman (Emma) and The Full Monty (Anne Dudley).

Presenter Gary Yershon was Oscar nominated for his work on Mr Turner, a biographical drama on the life of the painter, J.Turner. He has composed scores for Mike Leigh's 2008 film Happy-Go-Lucky and 2010 film Another Year.
