AJA, Georgia Rodgers, Foxy Moron, La Leif and Loraine were all named as winners for the second annual Oram Awards on BBC Radio 3 last night.
Announced on the Late Junction show by Max Reinhardt, winners of the award walked away with an £800 prize from the PRS Foundation in partnership with The New BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
The award ceremony will take place on 20th July at the Contact Stage of Bluedot festival in Cheshire and will be hosted by BBC 6 Music’s Elizabeth Alker and presented by US Singer Ana Matronic.
Now in its second year, the Oram awards are dedicated to recognising talented female music creators who are innovating in music, sound and related technologies.
The programme is targeted towards celebrating the next generation of innovative women in music and sound, rewarding emerging artists for their contribution, rather than established artists already recognised within the industry.

Winners of the last Oram Awards were Ewa Justka, Klein, Claire M Singer, Elvin Brandhi, Kathy Hinde, Mary Stark, Sally Golding and Shelly Knots. The awards ceremony took place at the Turner Contemporary in Margate.
The Oram Awards take their name from Daphne Oram, one of the original founding members of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, the awards hope to build upon her legacy in support innovative women in the music industry.
