Are you an unpublished composer who would like to hear your new music performed live?

OPUS2018 is Britten Sinfonia’s annual competition for unpublished composers of any age and background who are resident in the UK.

It offers the chance to receive a professional commission as part of the organisation’s award-winning At Lunch series.

Now entering its sixth year, former OPUS winners are among the best up-and-coming compositional talents in the UK.

This year’s competition carries a folk theme and the shortlisted composers will get the opportunity to work with James MacMillan, BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2018, Hannah Rarity, and a piano quintet from Britten Sinfonia.

Composers will be invited to write new music for the ensemble, with the winner receiving at least three performances of their work in the At Lunch concert series in London, Cambridge and Norwich.

The winner will also receive a professional standard recording of their piece and a commission fee.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 19 October, 5pm.
