Open Mic UK has opened it annual competition to seek out the nation’s best aspiring artists, rappers, vocal groups and singer songwriters.

The initiative offers a chance for upcoming musicians to perform to music industry judges, who attend at every stage of the music competition from the auditions to the Grand Final.

Judging panels include representatives from the three major record labels (Universal, Warner Music and Sony), as well as national radio DJs, regional press and BBC Introducing.

Auditions will be hosted in 15 regions across the UK, with places allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Competition auditions kick off in Birmingham on 13 August and close in Southampton on 23 September. For more info and to book your place, please visit http://www.openmicuk.co.uk/

Open Mic UK is organised by Future Music. Previous competition entrants include Warner Music’s Birdy, Union J’s Jaymi Hensley and Jahmene Douglas, both of whom are now signed to Sony Music.
