Cloud music service Omnifone has marked its tenth anniversary with the news that the organisation has added 1.2m subscribers in the last six months.

Recent licensing agreements with the likes of digital music aggregators, iMusica in Latin America and TuneCore in the US, have also seen the company’s catalogue grow rapidly.

At 25m, the catalogue is now four times as big as it was back in 2010, making it one of the largest licensed subscription libraries.

Jeff Hughes, Chief Executive Officer, Omnifone, said: ‘Our growth during the past 10 years is further evidence of streaming’s relevance to the future success of the music industry. As we look to the next 10 years we aim to be integral to the global adoption of digital music consumption through more partnerships in more countries.

‘The company’s accelerated growth made it necessary to relocate to our new space recently. Inviting the public to celebrate with us is the perfect ‘office warming’ and a brilliant way to strengthen our ties with the local business and technology community.’

Omnifone now operates in 34 countries after becoming the first company to license a global music subscription service in the likes of Germany and Japan.
