Northern Ireland song camp 2015

PRS for Music recently supported a Generator Northern Ireland songwriting weekend in a cluster of cottages at the Giant's Causeway, County Antrim.

Over two days, 20 writers from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Northern England came together to co-write under the guidance of mentors Rod Jones (Idlewild), James Allan (Glasvegas) and Paul Steel.

Stuart Fleming, senior membership manager, PRS for Music, Scotland & Northern Ireland was on hand to give business advice alongside the Generator Northern Ireland team.

The musicians joined in pairs and trios to co-write songs to briefs including Christmas music and heartbreak songs. For many, it was the first time writing with another person, or writing to brief - an experience which inevitably helped to push creativity out of comfort zones.
