Julie Whelan will join the organisation later this month from the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, a charity which supports disadvantaged young people.
Nordoff Robbins runs a music therapy centre in London and a number of nationwide outreach projects. It also hosts the annual Silver Clef Awards and various fundraising events.
Whelan said: ‘I am delighted and honoured to be joining Nordoff Robbins, an organisation that has such a great reputation and history.
‘I look forward to working with the team and partners to build on their current achievements and ensure more people can benefit from the wonderful work they do in using music therapy to transform lives.’
