Ninja Tune’s Matt Black and Jonathan More (aka Coldcut) and label manager Peter Quicke will receive the AIM Innovator Award.
The trio will be presented with the gong at the 2015 AIM Independent Music Awards on 8 September.
According to AIM, the Innovator prize celebrates the achievements of an artist, label or business person pushing the boundaries of independent music.
The imprint has established itself as one of the most important bastions of independence in the music industry, acting as a home for a wide array of artists including Kate Tempest, Andreya Triana, Mr Scruff, the Cinematic Orchestra and Young Fathers.
Matt Black said: ‘Being part of AIM allows us to keep that independence whilst at the same time having the strength of a community.’
Jon More added: ‘It’s a real honour to get this award. AIM is so crucial in fighting the indie labels corner - making that collective voice heard where it counts. We started Ninja Tune with a firm belief of being 100 percent independent. That belief has not changed after all these years.’
Other record labels under the Ninja Tune umbrella include Big Dada, Counter Records and Werkdiscs.
