In The Woods festival launches TAPE NOTES, a new podcast series about the art and craft of music production.

Hosted by John Kennedy, each episode reunites an artist and producer to talk about the highlights of their collaboration.

The first instalment features artist Rosie Lowe, whose debut album Control was produced by Dave Okumu.

Additional artist producer combinations to feature in the series will be Django Django and Neil Comber, Sivu and Charlie Andrew, and Will Joseph Cook and Hugh Worskett.

Tim Adam-Smith, In The Woods festival director, said: ‘Tape Notes was born out of my desire to create a current series that lifts the veil on how music is being produced in a modern context.

‘There have been documentaries and radio shows, that have scratched the surface of this topic, but I've always been left wanting more - they've usually focussed on the big music royalty acts like Pink Floyd or The Beatles, but there has been very little shining a light on how the current breed of producers and artists are making their work.’

‘My hope is, that by revealing how some of the best producers and artists currently create and record their work, it will inspire others to get out there and find their own ways of innovating and evolving music.

He continued: ‘Each podcast reveals how those tracks came to be, through early demos and stems from the recording sessions which illustrate the evolution of each track from seedling to finished article.

‘The TAPE NOTES conversations lift the lid on every stage of the creative process to offer insight into the working methods of some of the most innovative and exciting talents in music.’

In The Woods festival takes place on 1 and 2 September at a secret location in Kent.
