The Nest Collective is partnering with music charity Help Musicians UK to help folk music artists make the next step in their careers with a series of live events.

An initial event will take place on Tuesday 17 February with the support of Club Inégales, British Underground and the Institute of Composing.

Participating artists will have the chance to perform in front of key music industry figures and fellow musicians and well as take part in career mentoring sessions. Each event will begin with a speaker-led discussion, responding to the professional development needs of this artistic community.

Sam Lee, Nest Collective founder and Mercury Prize nominated artist, said: ‘The Nest Collective is delighted to be supported by Help Musicians UK in this initiative to support and develop some of the most talented up and coming folk acts of the moment.

‘We work with many artists at a certain stage in their career and recognise there are times when a leg up is invaluable.  We’ll be welcoming some excellent speakers to the fold and the events promise to be enriching for all.’

The new initiative will run in tandem with Help Musician UK’s ongoing partnership with the English Folk Dance and Song Society.
