Music+Sound Award nominees revealed

Wayne Sharp, Barnaby Taylor and John Lunn are among the composers shortlisted for this year’s Music+Sound Awards.

Taylor’s soundtrack to the BBC series Wild Arabia: Shifting Sands has been nominated in the TV category.

It’s up against Blaze Music’s soundtrack to The Paradise, Series 2 and Katharine Wray’s music to ITV’s Broadchurch series.

In the Branding and Titles category, Lunn’s Downton Abbey, Series 4, title music has been shortlisted alongside Sharp’s work for ITV’s rebrand and Sue Keatley’s Last Tango in Halifax.

More than 50 industry figures, including composers David Arnold (Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale) and Guy Farley (Hot Potato) selected the nominees.

Awards will be presented for Best Original Composition, Best Sound Design, Best Use of Existing Music and Best Use of Production Music in film, TV, advertising and gaming at a ceremony on 27 February at Troxy, London.
