The technology firm has joined forces with Mini to make its catalogue of 25 million songs available on the move. Deezer Premium+ subscribers can download the latest update to the Deezer app to access the service. This app links with Mini Connected, its in-car entertainment system, and drivers can use the steering wheel to control the app.

Axel Dauchez, chief executive of Deezer, said: ‘You can’t have a road trip without the right music, and you can’t enjoy a car without an amazing stereo. We’re excited about joining the iconic Mini brand in giving people the soundtrack they need for the open road. 25 million songs and one simple app should help people find the right song for the moment – wherever they’re going.’

This follows a similar partnership with Volvo that saw the streaming service introduced into its cars earlier this year.

Deezer is now second only to Spotify, with more than four million paying subscribers worldwide. Spotify has around six million paid-up users.
