EFDSS’ The Full English schools learning programme will go head to head with the Philharmonia’s iOrchestra initiative for the prize. Other shortlisted initiatives include CânSing, Inspire Works’ Road to Rio and James Rhodes’ Don’t Stop the Music.

The winner will be announced at a gala ceremony on 12 March 2015, presented by Classic FM’s Margherita Taylor.

Rachel Elliot, EFDSS education director, said: ‘We know The Full English has had a positive effect on the schools and young people involved and helped to educate a new generation of children and school staff about the relevance and value of traditional folk music, dance and other arts in education. For this to be recognised with this nomination is the icing on the cake.’
