The Music Producers Guild (MPG) has elected a new executive board with chairman Steve Levine and former CEO Richard Lightman stepping down.
Full MPG members Dan Cox, Bruno Ellingham, Cameron Craig, Andrew Hunt and Mick Glossop were elected as new directors at the Members Conference at Strongroom Studios in Shoreditch.
Former vice chairman Mark Rose, as well as Richard and Steve will remain involved with the MPG in ambassadorial roles.
Mick Glossop says: ‘We are very grateful to Steve, Mark and Richard for the sterling work they have done in promoting the interests of recording professionals and forging strong links with other music industry organisations.
‘As a result of their efforts, the MPG's standing is at the highest level it has ever been and our viewpoint is not only heard, but also given the consideration it deserves.’
Steve adds: ‘I have been honoured to represent MPG over the last five years and I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of a team that wants to make life better for recording professionals.’
Steve, who has worked with the likes of Culture Club and the Beach Boys, recently provided us with his top tips for bedroom producers, including how to best set up your room, record vocals, capture acoustic instruments and make that perfect demo.
