Saam Jafarzadeh, a graduate from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), has been announced as winner of the Music Producers Guild (MPG) Prize 2015.
The award is presented to the most promising student on LIPA’s Sound Technology degree programme. Tony Platt, MPG Education Representative and Steve Levine, MPG chairman and producer, presented Saam with the prize during LIPA’s annual graduation ceremony.
As the winner, Saam will get chance to work alongside the likes of Mark Ronson, mastering engineer Mandy Parnell and engineers Tom Dalgety and Hayden Bendall.
He will also get the opportunity to intern at RAK Studios, winner of the 2015 MPG Award for Best Studio, and visit the AMS Neve and Avid offices
Commenting on his award, Saam said: ‘Now that I have graduated, I'm hoping to build up a network of bands and musicians by working with them as a producer, beat maker, or mix engineer.’
‘Initially I will be staying in Liverpool while I improve my production skills but I'm keeping my options open and a move to London is a possibility within the next year or so.’
Originally from the UK, Jafarzadeh found his passion for music while growing up in Singapore and began developing his skills and knowledge there with a diploma in Sonic Arts at Republic Polytechnic.
