PRS for Music Foundation will be launching the Momentum Music Fund at this year’s Great Escape festival.

The fund is a new partnership between the foundation and the Arts Council which is looking to invest more than £500,000 into music projects over the next two years.

A launch event will be held at The Great Escape festival in Brighton on 17 May.

Alan Davey, Chief Executive Officer of the Arts Council England, will give a keynote speech alongside PRS for Music Foundation Executive Director Vanessa Reed.

The keynote speeches will be followed by a launch party at the Komedia cinema.

The foundation will also be holding a post-SXSW showcase of some of the artists it helped fund to attend the event via its British Music Abroad (BMA) programme.

This event will be running from 12pm at the Komedia on 18 May. Entry to both events is via delegate pass or guest list.

This year’s Great Escape takes place in Brighton and runs 16-18 May 2013. AlunaGeorge, King Krule and Tom Odell are among the artists performing.
