The nominations for the 16th MOBO awards were unveiled at a ceremony in London last night.
Jessie J led the way, receiving the most nominations. The singer received an unprecedented five nominations for Best Newcomer, Best UK Act, Best Album, Best Video and Best Song for her number one single Do It Like A Dude.
Adele, Wretch 32 and Tinie Tempah followed closely behind with four nominations each, and Chase and Status and Rizzle Kicks received three nods each. Commenting on their first ever national award nominations, the Brighton-based teens said: "We are completely ecstatic to be nominated for Best Newcomer at the MOBO Awards. A year ago we were unsigned and watched the awards on TV. We can't wait to go to Glasgow!"
CEO and Founder of MOBO Kanya King hailed the inclusion of emerging talent: "It's great to be providing these artists in particular with a platform and they help to keep our event new, fresh and relevant - it will be a massive show at Glasgow's SECC on 5th October. Now, let's get the votes in."
