UK rapper Ghetts, soul vocalist Andreya Triana and rockers Little Barrie are among the British finalists on Midem’s Artist Accelerator programme.

The initiative is run in by the festival collaboration with Deezer and Pepsi and aims to support managers, agents, promoters, labels and publishers in promoting their artists.

According to organisers, this first Midem Artist Accelerator received almost 500 submissions from around 50 countries with 14 finalists chosen by a panel of expert judges.

All of the artists will perform live on the Midem Festival open-air stage, which takes place 5-8 June in Cannes, France. They will experience a tailored programme during the tradeshow, including coaching sessions and unique networking opportunities.

Bruno Crolot, director of Music Markets a Reed MIDEM, said: ‘Response to the Midem Artist Accelerator initiative has been overwhelming and we’re thrilled with the exciting line-up that the jury has chosen.

‘Midem’s commitment to hosting live music is stronger than ever and this will be a unique opportunity to showcase great talent and provide each act with a  carefully-crafted programme that will help them blossom in the wider international music ecosystem.’
