Eccentric singer songwriter Micachu has provided a soundtrack for the upcoming film by Sexy Beast director Jonathan Glazer.

Under the Skin is an adaptation of a novel by Michel Faber, who also wrote The Crimson Petal and White.

Glazer previously directed Sexy Beast and followed it with the acclaimed Birth. Under the Skin is to debut at the Venice Film Festival in September and stars Scarlett Johannson as ‘a voracious alien seductress who scours remote highways and backroads for human prey’, according to the event website.

Micachu, also known as Mica Levi, fronts experimental pop band Micachu and the Shapes. She’s also known for her collaborations with fellow musical innovator Kwes as well being a classically trained musician who studied at the Guildhall school.

She also had an orchestral piece performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra back in 2008.

More recently she produced the I’m not Dancing EP by Tirzah which was released on Joe Goddard’s Greco-Roman record label.
