Experimental artist Mica Levi is to receive a European Film Award for her score to Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin.

Mica will receive the prize at the 27th European Film Awards ceremony, which is taking place this Saturday 13 December in Riga, Latvia.

The award was announced ahead of the ceremony - other nominations include Steven Knight's Locke, Lars von Trier's two-part Nymphomaniac and Pawel Pawlikowski’s Ida.

Alongside this gong, Mica’s film music has also been named as the joint winner of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association’s award for best music score.

She will share this prize with Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead. He earned the nod for this score to the forthcoming film, Inherent Vice.

Mica is best known as a singer/songwriter for her band Micachu and the Shapes.
