Jazz pianist Matthew Bourne has announced a series of live dates across the UK over the summer and autumn.

The acclaimed composer and musician will appear at the Manchester Jazz Festival tomorrow (30 July) alongside SeamingTo, Semay Wu and Olivia Moore.

Matthew will be performing as Billy Moon, a group which uses A. A. Milne’s much-loved Winnie The Pooh stories as inspiration for their songs.

In September, the pianist will perform two headline shows at the Lancaster Jazz Festival and at London’s Vortex venue with the Phil Meadows Group.

Then a month later, he will take his Bourne Synthesizer Show to the Marsden Jazz Festival to showcase his love for analogue synths in set of music created specifically for the event.

Matthew is a highly regarded jazz pianist who has received numerous awards since he graduated from Leeds College of Music back in 2001.

He’s also participating in the PRS for Music Foundation’s 2014 New Music Biennial as part of the Bourne Davis Kane trio.

The group are collaborating with avant-garde composer Piers Hellawell on an improvised piece.

Find out more about the New Music Biennial project from PRS for Music Foundation’s website.
