Marek Leiberberg, founder and director of Germany’s Rock am and Rock im festivals, will give a key note address at this year’s UK Festival Awards.

The promoter, whose career in live music spans over four decades and includes tours with the likes of Jay Z, Aerosmith and Britney Spears, will be the key note speaker at this year’s event on 2 December at London’s Roundhouse.

His speech is expected to focus on his career and provide insight on how he created the Rock am and Rock im festivals, which see 150,000 festival goers every year.

Marek said: ‘I’m both astonished and flattered to be the keynote speaker. If I don't forget to remember to forget I will try to share moments of bliss, delusion, vanity and furore with you.’

Other sessions at the all-day event have been announced including Globalisation invasion – are British festivals at risk from overseas events?, Are artist fees killing festivals? and Cashing out – a revolution in payment methods.

Organisers are also planning on staging an exhibition of poster artwork from festivals across the last decade. Critically acclaimed contemporary artist and album cover designer Pete Fowler will curate the exhibition to mark the tenth anniversary of the awards.

Music fans have until 1 November to cast their votes in a number of categories including headline performance of the year, best toilets and best breakthrough artist. Arctic Monkeys, the Rolling Stones and Mumford and Sons are among the nominated artists.
