This year, PRS for Music Foundation teamed up with PRS for Music and the Glastonbury Festival to support the winner and two runners up.
As well as the chance to perform on Glastonbury Festival’s main stages, M+A also received a £5,000 cheque from the foundation to help develop their career.
Two runners up, The Black Tambourines and Izzy Bizu, each received £2,500.
Vanessa Reed, executive director of PRS for Music Foundation said: ‘In our work as the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music, we know that artists need time and money to invest in their songwriting and business development.
‘We hope this new prize will enable the winners to think creatively about their next steps, building on the exposure they will receive at Glastonbury and the kudos of winning this incredibly popular competition. Congratulations to all of the winners.’
The prizes form part of the foundation’s celebration of PRS for Music’s centenary year.
