The latest issue of M magazine is out - our last for 2012. And what a year in music it has been! As the world’s gaze turned towards Britain, our songwriters, artists and performers delivered jaw-dropping performances and globe-trotting music.
Two exceptionally talented songwriters came into their own this year: Richard Hawley and Emeli Sandé. Both have triumphed through outstanding performances and releases. For our cover feature we pay homage to Richard Hawley, who chats about his second near-miss with the Mercury Music Prize and his dog-walking-and-songwriting routine.
