Vines will begin the role with immediate effect, reporting directly into chief executive Christina Vaughan.

Vines has 14 years’ experience working in digital media management, licensing video, photography and music at companies including Image Source and Orange Logic.

He said: ‘I first met Ed Averdieck, CueSongs’ chairman, a couple of years ago and loved his and Peter’s vision to democratise music, bringing the very best labels and publishers for commercial music to the millions of online content creators.

‘So, when Christina approached me to join the CueSongs team, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to link my licensing and digital platform experience with one of my personal passions.’

Christina Vaughan added: ‘This has been an exciting year of change for CueSongs. In building a new team, I have been very focused on how we deliver relevant commercial music to the millions of professional creators in the YouTube and new media platforms who understand that better commercial music delivers better return on investment for them.

‘Emotional engagement is the key to success in online content and in representing the best artists, labels and music, we know that we are a bridge between two very exciting worlds that are creating a whole new revenue stream for the music industry. We very much feel we are at the forefront of an idea whose time has come. Luke has excellent credentials, and we are very excited to be working together and leading such an exciting charge.’
