The Vinyl Library, London’s first all vinyl lending library, is to open in Stoke Newington on 1 July.

The new venture is non-profit and relies on donations from the public to ensure its shelves remain stocked.

Membership can be obtained by donating a piece of vinyl or paying a small membership fee.

The library hopes to ‘stock everything from 70?s Afro Rock to UK Garage, with an emphasis on creating a space where people can come and share their musical experiences face-to-face’.

Elly Rendall, co-founder of the venture, said: ‘By taking donations the library creates an opportunity for vinyl lovers to share their passion for music with others and gain access to a world of records whilst still being able to listen to their own.’

The library, which can be found at Unit 1, Foulden Road, Stoke Newington, N16 7UU, London, is also expecting to host live DJ mixes and talks.
