On Saturday 23 June 2012, various venues including the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Kensington Gardens will play host to more than 300 artists. There will be performances from the Royal College of Music’s resident ensembles, as well as beat boxer and Victoria and Albert Museum artist in residence Jason Singh.

Meanwhile, the world premiere of Live and Roar, written by Booker Prize-winning author DBC Pierre, in collaboration with members of English folk giants Bellowhead and Seth Lakeman band, will take place at the Natural History Museum. And Aleks Kolkowski , the Science Museum’s artist in residence, will recreate a 1905 concert for live musicians, recorded voices and an auxetophone – an obsolete piece of recording technology in the Science Museum’s collection.

To coincide with the programme, the three day Supersonix conference will take place from Wednesday 20 June until Friday 22 June. It promises to lead both academics and the general public on a musical journey through experiments, lectures, workshops and interactive technology.
