The London Chamber Orchestra (LCC) will perform at the Classic BRIT Awards 2013 on 2 October.

Presenter Myleene Klasse will host the event for the sixth consecutive year at the Royal Albert Hall while the LCC will appear for the seventh time.

The awards were created to highlight the achievements of the great and the good from across the world of classical music.

Last year’s event saw the likes of 20 year-old pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, violinist Nicola Benedetti, classical guitarist Miloš Karadagli and legendary Star Wars film composer John Williams all honoured.

Decca Records President Dickon Stainer and Avie Records Director Barry McCann, said: ‘We are delighted that the Classic BRIT Awards is so established in the award season calendar and is stronger than it has ever been before.

‘Developing a show that sits comfortably into the ITV format has not only increased viewers, but also subsequent sales of the performers and winners featured on each show.’

Previous showings of the ceremony have done much to further the reach of the classical genre with ITV's screening attracting more than two million-plus viewers.

Tickets for this year’s event are available from the Royal Albert Hall’s box office.
