PRS for Music is hosting a special edition of The Composers’ Seminar in Manchester on 23 May.

Taking place at The Royal Northern College of Music, the event is aimed at composers at all career levels from students to more established artists. The seminar will enable attendees to learn how to maximise their royalties as well as gain greater industry insight.

Adam Gorb, Emily Howard, Tim Williams (Psappha), Samantha Morgan (Manchester Camerata) and Simon Webb (BBC Philharmonic) will be among the panel speakers with an introduction from PRS board member and classical composer Edward Gregson.

The first part of the seminar will focus on the live performance of contemporary classical music, beginning with a discussion about audiences, programming and commissions.

The second half of the seminar will include a practical presentation on how PRS for Music licenses live concerts and events, and how composers can maximise their royalties from live performances of their works using a new online reporting tool.

The event will be followed by complimentary drinks and networking.
