BASCA is hosting an afternoon event with jazz pianist Peter Edwards and French horn player Jim Rattigan to explore funding options for composers.
Taking place at the Water Rats in London on 24 November, the Income Generation Clinic will see international composer and BASCA Board director Issie Barratt in discussion with representatives from Arts Council England, Help Musicians and the PRS for Music Foundation.
They will advise attendees on the different funding opportunities available and how to increase your chances of having your applications approved.
Topics covered will include writing a successful funding application, identifying what information funders are looking for and how to generate interest in your project through social media.
Also joining the panel will be two composers/musicians familiar with the world of funding applications.
Peter Edwards is a pianist, composer and bandleader. He composes and arranges for small band and large ensemble and his work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 2, Radio 3, 6 music and Jazz FM.
Jim Rattigan is one of the UK’s leading french horn players and has performed and recorded with all London orchestras and was principal principal horn Royal Philharmonic Orchestra 1989 to 1995.
Attendees are invited to send applications in progress to anna@basca.org.uk to receive bespoke insight and advice.
