Laura Ducceschi, music producer for the Brighton Dome and Festival, has won the Live Music Producers award from the Arts Foundation.
The prize, which was sponsored by the PRS for Music Foundation, was awarded to Laura at an event last night (28 January) at the Arts Foundation Awards 2016 in London.
She receives a £10,000 fellowship while runners up, Suzy Glass, John Stevens and Kate Whitley all receive £1,000.
While in her current role, Laura conceived and produced Live_Transmission, a large scale multi-disciplinary production involving the dismantling of Joy Division’s visual and musical motifs. Another project earsthetic, - art amplified, comprised a programme for artists who had both a visual and sonic perspective inherent in their work.
Commenting on the shortlist, PRS for Music Foundation’s director Vanessa Reed, said: ‘Congratulations to the four shortlisted creative producers who all demonstrated an extremely imaginative and risk taking approach to curating live music events and a clear vision of how an Arts Foundation award would help them at this stage in their career.’
Both Suzy Glass and John Stevens are graduates of the Foundation’s New Music Plus… programme.
Vanessa added: 'I’m delighted that two of the shortlisted producers took part in our New Music Plus… producer development programme and that so many talented women are being recognised as leading lights in this field.'
