Sam Andreae, Heidi Heidelberg and Phil Meadows are among the latest jazz artists to be selected for creative development programme, Take Five.
The scheme is now in its tenth year and aims to help artists develop both their musical knowledge and skill as well as their business understanding of the industry.
Take Five Edition X runs from now until summer 2015 and provides participants with one-to-one mentoring sessions to address their particular areas of need, as well a residential period exploring areas such as composition and performance.
Hyelim Kim, Lauren Kinsella, Emilia Mårtensson, Percy Pursglove and Alice Zawadzki make up the rest of this edition’s participants.
Vanessa Reed, executive director at PRS for Music Foundation, said: ‘Huge congratulations to the eight musicians who have been selected for this year’s Take Five. The line-up reflects the quality and breadth of jazz in the UK and it's really encouraging that more talented women have come forward than ever before. I look forward to following their progress over the next year.’
The Take Five scheme is supported by Jerwood Charitable Foundation and PRS for Music Foundation, delivered by international music producers Serious, and with additional support from Arts Council England and Help Musicians UK.
