The Comet is Coming, Darq E Freaker and Jammz are among the latest artists to receive backing from the PRS Foundation’s Momentum Music Fund.
Managed by PRS Foundation, the Momentum Music fund awards grants of £5,000-£15,000 using public funding from Arts Council England and support from PPL.
Spotify, the official digital partner on the fund, contributes additional funding and a reward package containing exciting promotional opportunities.
The Comet is Coming said: ‘So excited to be awarded the Momentum Music Fund which will be supporting us as we create our new album.
‘This is an incredible opportunity for us to show our full potential and put everything we have into a musical journey beyond our imagination!’
Vanessa Reed, PRS Foundation’s chief executive, said: ‘Congratulations to the 16 talented artists selected for the latest round of our Momentum fund which is now supported by PPL as well as PRS Foundation, Arts Council England and Spotify.
‘I'm really impressed by the breadth & quality of artists now being selected for this fund which has supported over 170 artists since the fund began in 2013. The huge demand for our latest deadline demonstrates how crucial access to investment is at tipping point in artists' careers.’
Since 2013 the Momentum Music fund has supported over 170 artists, over 80 new albums and more than 100 UK tours totaling over 650 UK live dates.
A recent impact report analysing the first three years of the fund revealed that every £1 invested by Momentum has generated £7.46 for the UK music industry.
The next deadline for submissions for the fund is 21 February.

Meadowlark - Debut album release marketing

Ms Banks - Recording, marketing and promotion
Mt Wolf - PR, marketing, tour, and music video production
Nubiyan Twist - Album recording and release
