The annual LA Sync Mission enables record label and music publishing executives, songwriters, composers, artists and managers to benefit from a unique insight into the operation of the lucrative sync licensing market in the US.

The mission also provides delegates a priceless opportunity to meet with many of the key players and decision makers from the world of sync working across the TV, film, advertising and games markets in the media capital of the US - the world’s largest entertainment market.

As a precursor to this year's event the BPI, MPA and DIT are holding a webinar entitled Sync 101 - An introduction to Sync Licensing for Rights Holders. The session will be hosted by Aminé Ramer, founder and music supervisor at State Of Sound, and Tim Bern, head of new markets and education at DISCO.

As an award-winning music supervisor and consultant, Aminé Ramer has influenced the sound and mood of feature films, documentaries, television series for well over a decade. Aminé’s success can be attributed to her careful selection of significant artists, ranging from the unknown to the popular. Her keen sensibility to create a visceral experience by connecting sight with sound along with an in depth understanding of music rights and how to navigate the clearance process. Her credits include Crip Camp, Woodstock 99, Flint Town and many others, and she is a board member of GMS (Guild of Music Supervisors).

Tim Bern  is the Head of New Markets and Education at DISCO.ac. He helped launch DISCO in Los Angeles in 2016 and has grown the user base to become the sync industry standard for music supervisors and rights holders to manage catalogues, search, send and receive files. His role, training thousands of professionals to use DISCO, has provided a wealth of practical experience, knowledge, and wide-ranging relationships from the frontline of the music and media industries. He recently published the School of DISCO - an in depth set of courses and articles for DISCO mastery.

This event is brought by the team behind the LA Sync Mission; The BPI, DIT and the MPA. It will take place on Thursday 25 August at 9am and tickets are available here
