Kobalt and Sony/ATV/EMI scoop Music Week awards

Kobalt won Independent Publisher of the Year at last night’s Music Week Awards while Sony/ATV/EMI picked up two accolades for Publisher of the Year in the singles and albums categories.

Elsewhere Island Records received two awards, one for A&R and the other for best record company. 4AD picked up the award for Independent Record Company.

Adrian Sykes and Greg Castell shared the Manager Of The Year Award and SJM Concerts’ Simon Moran took the Live Promoter gong.

The biggest award of the night, The Strat, went to Richard Griffiths and Harry Magee of Modest! Management. Simon Cowell made an appearance to present the pair with the prize.

The ceremony took place at The Brewery in London and was hosted by broadcaster Chris Evans.
