Celebrating the life and music of this veritable legend, the acts so far confirmed to play at the concert include Heather Nova, Maxi Priest, Biggie Irie, Judie Tzuke and Roy Young.

Bermuda held a special meaning for Lennon, as after a five year bout of unshakable writers' block, he took to the sea and sailed to Bermuda. The sights and sounds re-awoke something within Lennon, as within six weeks he had written 25 new songs.

The resulting comeback album became the now infamous Double Fantasy LP, named after a species of flower Lennon had seen at the Bermuda Botanical Gardens.

PRS for Music, the collecting society which been present in Bermuda for a number of years, is sponsoring the event. Karen Buse, the society's Director of International, commented: 'We are delighted to be supporting such a fantastic event and tribute to one of the greatest musicians and British songwriters the world has ever known and enjoyed.

'We felt this was great opportunity to be involved in something special which brings local and international musical talent together and puts live music in Bermuda on the world map.'

The concert is just a small part in an initiative to raise the profile of music in Bermuda, and also to reinforce the value of music copyright, as a team from PRS for Music continues to work with government and industry in Bermuda.
