Joan Armatrading (pictured), Years & Years and The 1975 were among the winners at the Artist and Manager Awards 2016.

The event, which took place in London last night (24 November), honoured Armatrading with the Artists’ Artist Award for a career spanning four decades.

Newcomers Years & Years received the Breakthrough Artist Award and the equivalent Manager slot was won by Tobe Onwuka, Stormzy’s manager. The 1975 were named Artist of the Year.

Elsewhere, veteran manager Peter Rudge received the PPL-sponsored Peter Grant Award.

Imelda May and members of James (both managed by Rudge) performed to close the evening.

Jonathan Dickins of September Management was named Manager of the Year for his work with Adele and the other artists on his roster, while Zita McHugh collected the Writer/Producer Manager of the Year Award.
