JLS and Olly Murs have been jointly unveiled as the hardest working acts to headline at major venues in 2011 by PRS for Music.
According to the annual chart on the hardest working performers by venue type, JLS and Murs performed a total of 29 major venues each in 2011, ahead of Take That. Both acts began their careers as contestants on the UK reality show X Factor, JLS featuring in the fifth series and Olly Murs in the sixth.
Murs called the accolade a 'real honour,' adding: ‘The last two years have been incredible for me - I've achieved so much and it's great to be recognised for all the work I've put in. Thanks to everyone who's come to see me play live - there's lots more to come!’
JLS, who were named in third place in the 2010 chart, commented: ‘This is a great achievement and really goes to show how hard we have been working this year. It’s an honour to be awarded this by PRS for Music and we are looking forward to what 2012 will bring!’
JLS has gone from strength to strength since their X Factor exposure, with their 2009 debut single and album both entering UK charts at number one. The band released their third studio album last month, with another UK tour set for 2012.
Olly Murs successfully managed to beat Katy Perry to the UK number one spot with Please Don’t Let Me Go in August. Since then he has embarked on a UK tour and has just released his second album, In Case You Didn’t Know.

Peter Andre claimed the title in 2010 clinching it from previous holders Status Quo, but who has dropped out of the top 10 this year but is set for a large 2012 tour all over the UK.
