Analogue aficionado James Holden is to give his last ever performance of Outdoor Museum of Fractals with Camilo Tirado and an Indonesian gamelan orchestra.
Outdoor Museum of Fractals was created in response to a brief from the Barbican and Muziekgebouw to celebrate Terry Riley’s 80th birthday. It premiered April 2015 alongside Luke Abbott’s 555Hz.
On 23 October 2016, the Church of Sound and Deep End will bring the piece to St James the Great in Clapton, London, for its final UK performance.
Holden will be joined by producer and percussionist Camilo Tirado, and LSO Community Gamelan, led by Dr Andy Channing, director of the UK’s leading Balinese gamelan group Lila Cita.
Support will come from Liverpool experimental trio Ex-Easter Island Head and revered crate-digging international DJ Cherrystones.
All proceeds from the booking fees will go to the charity Calais Action, via Party for the People.
