Calling all composers – submit music for choir, brass quintet and/or organ for the possibility to feature in JAM’s 2020 launch concert in London.
Scores are welcomed from anyone aged 18 or over who is currently residing in the UK.
JAM is seeking pieces of up to 10 minutes long, however there is no minimum limit – a short fanfare is as welcome as a large piece.
Successful submissions will be performed in its launch concert at St Bride’s Church, London, on 19 March 2020.
Performers include The Chapel Choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge, Onyx Brass, organist Simon Hogan and conductor Michael Bawtree.

Selected works will be joined by previous JAM commissions by Paul Mealor (2010), Julian Philips (2012) and Daniel Saleeb (2018) for a showcase of new music.
The concert will be professionally recorded to help the composers promote their work.
2020 marks JAM’s 20th anniversary of commissioning music. Over the years, the organisation’s commissions include pieces by Rory Boyle, Adam Gorb, Tom Harrold, John McCabe, Thea Musgrave and Julian Philips.
Some have gone on to win or be shortlisted for British Composer Awards, including works by Jonathan Dove, Judith Bingham and Gabriel Jackson.
Jackson said: ‘For many years now JAM has been putting on fascinating concerts, has commissioned a substantial body of new work and given countless opportunities to emerging composers through their submissions scheme. Without them, the world would be a much duller place!’
