Submissions must be written for choir, brass quintet and organ - or any combination of these - for performance with some of the UK’s most significant composers.
Although there is no minimum length, all pieces should be no longer than 10 minutes each.
Anyone aged 18 or over may submit music to JAM if they are born, living or studying in the UK. The closing date for entries is 30 November.
Every submission will be read by the JAM Creative Panel.
Winning pieces will be performed at JAM’s 2016 season launch concert at St Bride’s Church, London, on 17 March.
The concert will be performed by The Chapel Choir of Selwyn College Cambridge, Onyx Brass and Simon Hogan, and will be conducted by Michael Bawtree.
The performances will be professionally recorded for composers to use in publicising their work.
Thea Musgrave’s The Voices of our Ancestors, commissioned especially by JAM, will also be performed at the event.
In 2016, JAM will run 20 events, and music submitted for the opening concert will be considered for repeat performances throughout the season.
